MY QUALIFICATIONS

SPORT-THERAPY

Sept 2016 - July 2018

This is a two-year diploma that focuses on manual techniques and exercises to treat musculo-skeletal complaints.

It's kind of a mini-course in physiotherapy, if you will.  It doesn't qualify me as a physio, but as a trainer it has given me a great deal more understanding about the body, common aches and pains and injuries and increased the range of complaints that I can treat.

I don't, and won't rehab after surgery or major injury, but this qualification has helped me more effectively train women with common complaints like low back pain, neck, hip and knee pain.

CERTIFIED PHYSICAL FITNESS AND HEALTH INSTRUCTOR

Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports

Here I learnt the basics of anatomy, physiology, training methodology, exercise selection and program design.  The course focuses on bodybuilding methodology.

CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER

Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports

Part of my initial training, focusing on individuals health and fitness goals and building a personalized program.

PRE- AND POSTNATAL PHYSICAL TRAINING AND PELVIC FLOOR REHABILITATION CERTIFICATION

Campus Siim, Center for the Certification of Sports and Movement, Tel Aviv University

This course taught me the basics of pre- and post-natal fitness.  While the course content is a little outdated, it does give valuable information about pregnancy and post-partum anatomy and physiology, how to keep clients safe and what NOT to do.  Part of the course includes an AMAZING presentation of the core and pelvic floor presented by Sivan Navot.

NUTRITION COACH

I am currently working my way through the qualification offered by Precision Nutrition.

I offer nutrition and fat-loss coaching on an individual basis.  Contact me for details.

PELVIC FLOOR PISTON: FOUNDATION FOR FITNESS

Julie Wiebe is an incredibly talented Physical Therapist. I have completed a number of her courses and can highly recommend them to anyone wishing to learn more about the core as an integrated system.  You will soon be able to purchase her courses through this website.

POSTNATAL FITNESS COURSE

Jessie Mundell, Continuing Education for Trainers

Jessie Mundell is a pre- and postnatal fitness specialist (like me!) that I admire and respect.  She is the one who introduced me (through the internet!) to the concept of strength training postpartum, as well as Julie Wiebe's work.  She's had a huge influence on my own work and I highly recommend her blog and courses
